POCT DIAGNOSTICS LLC

Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus, with a BSMT Degree. Has been a Lab Director since 1986. Has owned four Clinical Laboratories and one Veterinary Laboratory. Sold his last laboratory in 2015.

In 2016, he set up POCT DIAGNOSTICS LLC in Puerto Rico and registered it with the FDA as an Initial Importer/Distributor. Since then, POCT has been distributing innovative Rapid Test Kits and other products to clinical laboratories and hospital laboratories throughout Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

After completing undergraduate studies in Marketing in 1992, Ana worked in the Food Industry for 16 years, where she was honored with various prestigious awards in the industry. After that, she decided it was time for a change and went to work in Public Service and Politics as Auxiliary Advisor in charge of designations for the then Governor of Puerto Rico. Later on she worked as Special Assistant to the Ombudsman for People with Disabilities.

After this period in Public Service and Politics, she started working in the Health Services industry offering Professional Services with companies like Bancovida. It was during this period that she accepted an offer from Pedro Casas to become Vice President in charge of Sales and Marketing for POCT, a position about which she is truly passionate because she loves to work for an organization that helps people achieve their optimum health.

Ana is now a Partner at POCT and our Executive Vice President in charge of Marketing, Operations and Strategic Growth.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he grew up in Venezuela, USA, Finland, Spain, and Puerto Rico, where he has resided permanently since the early 90’s. In addition to his mother tongue, Spanish, his stays in different parts of the world helped him learn several other languages, like English, Finnish, and some Russian and Italian.

He began his Accounting studies at the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas and finished them at The University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan, Puerto Rico, obtaining a BBA major in Accounting and a Minor in Transportation Management. He was also part of The Arctic Studies Program at The University of Lapland, in Rovaniemi, Finland. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant designation in the year 2000.  

He has been advising POCT on financial matters since its inception and formally joined the organization as it’s CFO and Comptroller in early 2020.

Carlos Alberto is also a part time Professional Actor with many appearances in Hollywood movies and series such as A Perfect Getaway (2009), The Rum Diary (2011), ShowTime TV Series Homeland (2011), Speed Kills (2018) and many others. He is the winner of the Best Local Actor Award in the Lusca Fantastic Film Fest, 2020 edition.
